Keshhood the Dagbani Rapper released another Hip Hop song he calls “I am The North” produced by Fortune and mixed by DrFiza Sounds after his previously acclaimed Kings & Gods (Igwee My Ass) with Saani and Don Sigli which took the city by a storm. This song has a lot to do with rappers in Northern Ghana and beyond. To listen to the song before you read on, click HERE.

This really didnt come as a surprise because Keshhood is known for minding his own business. And the rap game IS his business, thats why he had to do this.

​

You hear the very angry side of him on I am The North when you listen to some weird punchlines from the song, which you have to wrap your brain around and think about further before you understand the meaning.  Just like what he says in the song; “I*m too deep for them to relate to.”

​

I listened to the song and to be honest it is made out of anger, love and passion for Rap. Here are some bars which I have tried my best to break down for the fans to understand.

1. “NIBI MILA RAP, NOW WE ON THE JOURNEY WHY YOU BEGGIN’ FOR THE MAP”

​

Here Keshhood says rappers claim they know exactly where the real rap is located, an when these rhyhmers are on the journey to RAP they get lost in the middle of nowhere, and ends up begging for the map to rap. He also urges the lost rappers to never give up but rather double up to catch the pace.

2. “ANO GET TIME LIKE Y’ALL NIGGAZ LL END UP IN MY SHRINE”

​

Keshhood says he would have sacrificed every rapper to his God’s in his shrine. If only he had time for them. Who are these rappers?

3. “TOO DEEP FOR THEM TO RELATE TO, MANI NBALA Y3LPARIM MALAIKA MOOTU”

​

The Rap Medusa says he is The Rap Angel of Death because his lyrical decterity is way too much for shallow minds to relate to. Yes, its true because you have to think harder sometimes before understanding the meaning of some of the lines in his rap. We all agree Keshhood has some deadly punchlines so he is truly the Rap Angel of Death.

4. “MAN BI NY3RAGBA DIN NY3LA ANY3LA JOHN CENA”

​

Keshhood disclosed that he doesnt see any rappers in the wrestling Mania. Not even John Cena. Which John Cena? Is it Ataaka the Rap John Cena? He also offers an idea for these rappers to consider getting an antenna because their flows has a bad signal. I personally believe he was talking to a rapper called Shabban. This rapper said they should meet in the rap wrestle Mania.

5. “WHO BE THE BOSS? ANY3LA BOSS WITH LOW COST”

​

Here I personally think Keshhood kills 2 birds with 1 stone. There are 2 self-acclaimed bosses in the North. The overall Boss of the Boss Family, and Maccasio the 69 Boss. I believe he meant these self-acclaimed bosses are stunting on cheap popularity.  Like seriously??

6. “N’YAA YAGI $100K, DIZUHU ANTIMA $50K MANKUDEE”

​

If you havent heard about the trending $50k beef between the northern rappers:

We all know Ojah Drumz started this $50k beef by putting up a challenge to any rapper who thought he could battle his artist S.K.Y The Tamale Boy. Earlier this week Keshhood told one of his fans in a Q & A on Facebook that: “Oga Taufik, well SKY said nothing about $50k so he is apparently off the scene. No disrespect bruh, my flow costs over their bargains.” So Keshhood meant his flow is worth over $100k and thats why he rejects the $50k offer by Ojah Drumz on behalf of his artist. That means the $50k artists are not his march at all cost.

7. “I’M LIVE IN THE FASTLANE, F#UC YOUR DREAM TIME”

​

He goes on and asks rappers to f#ck their dream time, and urges the sleeping rappers to wake up and work hard to live life in the fastlane, not in their dreams. Thats a big blow to the sleeping rhyhmers.

8. “AFRICA RAPPERS XI N’L3BBI CAPTAIN”

​

We all know there is a captain in every game. Keshood says he is the skipper of the Africa Rappers (XI) men squad, meaning he is the eye of Africa rap.

9. “BINSHAGAU NY3BA BEE DIBI NY3BA AM STILL KING”

​

Keshhood says he is the ruler in his own way whether they like it or not. I personally agree with that.

​

10. “ANKAADI 10 BEST RAPPERS IN GHANA KA KESHHOOD KANI ZHIKAAGMARA F#CK   YOU”

​

Last but not least, he says f#ck anyone who refuses to put him on the list of the 10 Best Rappers in Ghana because he deserves to be there.
